Based upon Marvel Comics' most non-traditional anti hero, DEADPOOL tells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves gifted healing powers to him, embraces the alter ego Deadpool. Gods of Eddie the Eagle Egypt, and Triple 9 all flopped within their opening weekends, making the ongoing box office success of Ryan Reynolds' foul-mouthed superhero even more staggering. We understood that there were two celebrities involved with bringing Colossus to life in Deadpool: Andre Tricoteux supplied the mo-cap functionality for the larger than life X Men character, while his was provided by Stefan Kapicic heavily-accented voice.

It is no surprise that the teams hired to bring a property like Deadpool to the screen understand how you can keep the machine oiled and humming; it is the ones who somehow manage to briefly stick a wrench in the works, adding something human -- a feeling instead of another quip -- who are worth your attention. Deadpool topped the box office for the third weekend in a row, which is an impressive accomplishment for virtually any movie...but it helps when most of your competition arrives with a thud.
