Based upon Marvel Comics' most unconventional antihero, DEADPOOL tells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, who after being subjected to some rogue experiment that leaves him with healing powers that are gifted, adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Gods of Egypt, Eddie the Eagle, and Triple 9 all flopped in their own opening weekends, making the continued box office success of Ryan Reynolds' foul-mouthed superhero even more staggering. We understood that there were two actors involved with bringing Colossus Andre Tricoteux provided the mocap performance for the larger-than-life X Men character, while Stefan Kapicic supplied his heavily-accented voice.

It's no surprise that the teams hired to bring a property like Deadpool to the screen understand how to keep the machine oiled and humming; it is the ones who somehow manage to briefly stick a wrench in the works, adding something human -- a feeling instead of another quip -- who are worth your attention. Deadpool topped the box office for the 3rd weekend in a row, which will be an impressive feat for just about any picture...but it helps when your entire competition arrives using a thud.
