Based upon Marvel Comics' non-traditional anti-hero, DEADPOOL tells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, who after being subjected to some rogue experiment that leaves him with healing powers that are gifted, adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Gods of Triple 9, Eddie the Eagle, and Egypt all flopped in their opening weekends, making the continuing box office success of Ryan Reynolds' foul mouthed superhero even more staggering.
