Bangkok???s Lebua: Luxurious Setting For A ???Hangover???

By J.S Fletcher and Kathy M. Newbern ?? 2011
Wow, we presume like Hollywood celebs. With the release of 'Hangover Part II,' a comedy as well as the follow-up myanmar tour operator on the blockbuster movie, 'The Hangover,' which made $450 million on the box office, we found ourselves saying aloud once we saw a commercial for it on TV: 'Hey, that's lebua at State Tower!" That's the all-suite luxury hotel in Bangkok, Thailand, where we stayed on our first nights during our tour of Southeast Asia (Thailand, myanmar tour operator (a href="http://Www. myanmar tour operator Jjxnb.com/comment/html/index.php?page=1&id=87732">Www.Jjxnb.com) and Cambodia) this past year.
lebua was chosen for several of the scenes inside the movie, and after seeing how beautiful the property is, especially the top levels, we can easily understand why. A 360-degree view of Bangkok is ideal for starters, as well as the rooftop restaurant complex is over-the-top stunning. From the entrance to Sirocco, the earth's highest open-air rooftop restaurant around the 63rd floor on the swank, always-busy Sky Bar for the golden Dome atop the recently re-launched Mezzaluna, lebua's modern and innovative haute eatery, the atmosphere seems more fantasy than reality.
Luxury tour company Abercrombie & Kent (A&K) had set up our itinerary, and when we checked into our "room" at lebua in Bangkok, little did we understand we'd use a suite perfect for any long-term stay. With accommodations such as this, it had been tempting to add on a week, or, say, 3-4 months.
As a fellow traveler in the UK input it: "I get a kick out checking into an area bigger than my London flat."
Of course, lebua offers more than "rooms." It's a 5-star, all-suite hotel. These suites are, yes, sweet - with 358 in most located in the second tallest tower in Bangkok, a major city of about 12 million and close towards the size of Los Angeles.
From your suite's three balconies about the 55th-floor, we'd bird's-eye views with the Chao Phraya River (also known as the River of Kings) and Bangkok. Inside the suite, we had arrived surrounded by luxury from an entry hall with washer within the end closet, with a separate office, an income room, dining room, full kitchen, two bathrooms (single the bedroom and one down the hall; both featuring Bvlgari products), an extremely spacious bedroom with tons of closet space, lock-box safe, and dreamy 330-thread-count linens. And, the piece de resistence was our personal massage room with his-and-her massage tables.
We took full advantage by booking Thai massages in your room early one evening. (Read that story here.) Talk about the best way to recover from jet lag.
At lebua, the suites and the dining and entertainment venues will make you feel like a motion picture star, too.
lebua at State Tower features the following dining venues:
' Sirocco, with drop-dead views in the world's highest al fresco restaurant, features Mediterranean fare plus a see-and-be-seen vibe;
' The Sky Bar is found alongside Sirocco and features lively cocktails and more stunning night views;
' Ocean 52 about the 52nd floor has Asian blends - we ventured in charge of our first breakfast and loved it;
' Mezzaluna about the 65th floor, billed as Northern Italian cuisine and where we'd our farewell dinner;
' Distil, upscale bar on the 64th floor with oyster bar, Iranian caviar, Altantic lobster, champagne and wine from your walk-in cellar, plus enjoy hand-rolled Cuban cigars by using an adjourning open-air terrace;
' Mozu about the M Floor features Lebanese and Indian cuisine in addition to wood-fired pizza with all-day dining 6 a.m. one a.m. The decor is bright and welcoming. This poolside eatery now offers an extensvie breakfast;
' Breeze, Asian cuisine inside a dazzling high-up outdoor venue;
' and lebua Lounge, where high-tea and homemade pastries are served daily.
We certainly felt like stars for the evening at Mezzaluna where we had been seated at one from the premiere window tables. The mood was tres romantic if the string trio began playing our request: "Fly Me for the Moon," so appropriate due to the in-the-clouds feeling lebua creates with its "dome" which crowns this fine dining venue. (Read about our dining here and examine the slideshow for photos in our evening.)
If you do not stay at lebua when visiting Bangkok, then a minimum of stop by for any drink or dinner to find out this lavish, in-the-sky set-up.

Located inside Bang Rak business district of Bangkok, Thailand's capital city, lebua at State Tower, a member of Preferred Hotels & Resorts, is 40 minutes by car or taxi from Suvarnabhumi International Airport. The hotel is 10 minutes' walk from Chong Nonsi SkyTrain station and 15 minutes' walk from Silom Metro station.
If You're Going: Of course, our stay would have been a bit more sedate compared to one portrayed in 'The Hangover II,' but none-the-less exciting. Now for fans with the movie, lebua is offering an opportunity to be able to live the life with the characters from your movie which has a special two-night Hangover Part II package costing $2,200. Fans could also stay in The Hangover Suite, a three-bedroom luxury suite at lebua Hotel, which can accommodate up to six people and provides a fully stocked mini bar and ample space to party such as the guys from The Hangover! Fans could also sample the Hangovertini, an exclusive, signature cocktail made out of green tea liquor, Martini Rosso, green apple juice, rosemary infused honey.But leave the monkey at home.
